Design Lead: PowerSync

We're looking for a skilled graphic designer to take on the lead design role at PowerSync. This is our only design-focussed position, covering everything from brand design and custodianship to Webflow-based website design and development, community growth initiatives, and a steady stream of one-off design projects.
PowerSync is a sync engine used by software developers around the world to build modern applications that are easier to develop and deliver a great user experience. Our team is fully remote, with optional offices in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and Denver, Colorado, USA. This role involves ongoing collaboration with team members in US time zones.
You'll work closely with our US-based Head of Growth and collaborate across teams on a range of design projects.
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain PowerSync's brand design.
- Ensure a consistent visual identity and adapt it as new needs emerge.
- Own website design and development.
- Our website is the starting point of the product user journey.
- We use Webflow to develop and host our website.
- Lead design efforts for community growth.
- PowerSync engages with developers through social media, Discord, newsletters, and other channels.
- Manage a steady flow of one-off design projects.
- Handle ad hoc design requests and oversee larger standalone initiatives.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic designer who can demonstrate that they can manage a high throughput of design projects and are a good fit for our team.
Core requirements:
- Strong design skillset and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Figma and other relevant tools.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Webflow.
- Understanding of the problem that PowerSync solves and who our users are.
- A get-things-done mindset: take initiative, adapt to challenges, and deliver reliably.
You will be a perfect fit if you:
- Have a low ego and growth mindset.
- Enjoy exploring new tools and approaches to design.
- Have coding experience and can empathize with developers.
- Have 5+ years of graphic design experience.
- Can consistently attend meetings that take place in the mornings in US time zones.
- Enjoy sharing your work and supporting other designers.
